ABFA kolkata was established in the year 1979 with the objective of uniting fans of the mega-star under a single umbrella. Accordingly, adequate measures ware taken & fans from all corners of bengal joined the association. Apart from celebrating the release of every film of Amitji in a flamboyant way, ABFA Kolkata has always emphasized upon thier responsibility of serving the society and doing something meaningful for the weaker segment of the society as it is basically a social welfare organization.
ABFA kolkata has also been celebrating Amitji’s B’day on 11th October in Mumbai and in Kolkata, “guru puja” on the auspicious “Guru Purnima” & “World Fans’ Day” on 2nd Aug (ABFA Kolkata has earmarked Amitji’s rebirth on 2nd Aug 1982 as “World Fans’ Day” & has been observing the day accordingly from 2011.)
